Generically Untitled: Ivy League Drama

It's almost time for the Yale Harvard Game! Are you ready???

...as for me, I am half and half.

It is debatable whether Princeton actually can be personalized as a nerd...I think MIT disguised himself as a Ivy League school because he's just jealous.

Random: My friend said that my comics were horrible because they were not funny. I think I have gotten a lot of these comments lately and as much as I'd like to ignore it...it's hard. But as I am majoring in MBB - one of the hardest majors at Yale with 23 required courses - I am kinda conked. Still...it really is not an excuse.

But then, other than cult-ish fans (ahem)...college comic series are never really taken seriously. Unless you are a friend of the comic artist or is just plained bored with the wilted issue of newspaper that is sadly looking at you in the dining hall...the comics are never appreciated as fine art anyway. My strong points really are in serious, long-drawn comics...4 panels funnies are challenging.

The most annoying shit ever though is this: after people have said my comics suck, they offer to make the comic better by saying they will email advice for me to draw. But do they do it? NO FUCKING WAY. Why? Because comic is a tricky art. No one can do it perfectly. The internet also has better options anyway...
TL;DR version: My comics suck. But life happens. Too bad. Want a better comic to follow? USE YOUR DAMN INTERNET TO FIND BETTER ONES.

...Besides, college should be a damn experimental period. I am still struggling. Too bad people are having such high standards which can be a source of inspiration and exasperation. Have anyone seen some of the older comics of the great comics? They have their own lows and highs.

Bah this rant is going nowhere and my blog now looks like a disorganized Removal whinefest (NO OFFENSE I AM JUST JESTING OKAY? OKAY.)

See ya later!

PS: If you squint you might see Pheonix Wright style pointery. It's not that exact or exciting but it's there :P

Yale Record: Deadly Dwarves? Or Sins?

Warning: This might ruin your Disney childhood.

The latest Yale Record Issue...was called "7 Deadly Sins". It was really fun to draw stuff for it and the parodies are just gold. You guys should all check it out! But one thing to add...PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE ME FOR THE ART I SUBMITTED IN THIS MAGAZINE. >_>"

SO, are you ready to see it? Well...

...

......

.........

............

...Ah screw it.

NO DOPEY NO DON'T DO IT.

I'll say though...the B/W version of this pic - the way the magazine published it - made this more bearable for the reader...I think...

BRB HIDING FROM ANGRY DISNEY FANS/PURISTS.

See you next time!!!

Generically Untitled: QWERTY

If you venture to the Commons/Woosley Hall rotunda often enough, this might make sense.

I can has subtle comic toning? I am usually too lazy to do this but without the shades...I just felt the comic was too boring visually (the humor content is debatable though).

Recently, as I read some of the better comics around campus/on the internet, I often wonder why even try to make this comicking my own. I feel like I am better off copying humor styles and is currently failing at trying to reach any semblance of an audience...so much for being a freshman who wanted to change how comics are made at Yale with NEW STYLES and all that BS. I am just too tired to try now lol;;; /FAIL

...or is this just my sophomore pre-slump just talking crap? Who knows. Being a science major/art person is not easy bawwwwww :(

Okay midterm now bbl. See you next time!

B.S. Comics: FLU SHOT

WOAH I thought this would be published next week but apparently I was wrong! So...here it is. New strip in which KAWAII NOT strikes again!

Yea...evil syringes are certainly frightening to behold...

Since this was kinda out of the blue, I don't have much to say here...well, see ya!

Generically Untitled: Creepy Fortunes

This strip is brought to you by Weird Faux Chinese Fortunes. The faux is meant for the fact that fortune cookies are not, in fact, Chinese. (I am also far too lazy to find legit sources to prove this fact.)

It is also questionable whether this person was actually taking drugs before having that fortune. Ah, who cares.

Have trouble believing that fortune is real?? Well actually...I had this one from some random Asian food study break from PSAC - Pierson Student Activities Committee. Hooray for late night free food! (before I get sick and feel miserable, that is.)

CREEEEPY. This is poor quality due to webcam. (Will scan it or something later...)

As for life...it is making me too sensitive to how fragile life can be. Given that I also tend to have "panic attacks" about death at least once per year...this is kinda scary and a little enlightening to me. I sometimes wish I can draw these in comic form but the 4-panel format leaves little to the imagination. Also...I am too self-conscious. The only death in the family that I experienced was that of my grandfather on my mom's side...but even then, I was too young to totally feel. The only thing I can do now is meditate on such events.

...but life goes on. Midterms are just as unforgiving. Vacations...still very far off but will be too short when they come and go. I apparently also racked up my emo quota for this week...

See ya next time!

B.S. Comics: Halloween

TBH I dunno why I even distinguish BS Comics and Generically Untitled this year. They are more or less the same to me...I just hope I get some inspiration from American humor or something real soon...

But here is my halloween comic!

The censor button is supposed to show that I supposedly had drawn something so offensive that it had to be hidden. But really, I just kinda got lazy. Also IMAGINING the thing by yourself is even more traumatizing. ...dunno who Akhil Amar is? Well here is his wikipage.

The fourth panel was not derived from anything I liked...it came from a small convo bit I had with Jacob from the Yale Record about Halloween costume ideas...and one of the things suggested was a "sexy professor" due to the overuse of the word SEXY for any costume to makei it more...Halloween-fitting? IDK America is weird.

Apparently I need to learn now to draw more American funny comics instead of the animu-ish Asian style humor...I guess I need to start abandoning biochem to watch some Comedy Central standups...which I kinda fail at watching because everyone watches Bravo or football in the Pierson/Dport gym lol. Plus, I kinda like watching Food Network during my gym sessions...

Well, Happy Halloween guys! I actually won't be dressed up this year but I hope I'll still have fun :)

Generically Untitled: POKEMONS.

Pokemon + Transformers = Awesome Nerdy Joke? Yep!

Pretend I can draw Optimus Prime. All the google image search results gave me the recent Michael Bay stuff (which is damn hard to draw), or really small 1980s screencaps. I tried hydbridizing.

I hope I get to hear some good come out of this one at least. I EVEN CHECKED POKEMON BATTLE LOGIC! How can you tell? Well Ditto can transform to things that it is BATTLING against. So I added filler Jigglypuff after reading. And why Pikachu?

Well...whether you like it or not, Pikachu is the most well-recognized thing in that Franchise.

Next time, Herald Comics. Seeya!

PS: After I submitted this comic to the editor, I realized that this joke had been made at least TWO YEARS AGO (courtesy of a nerd friend who reads this stuff). ...god I feel so damn unoriginal. But at least I am not gettin' money off it?

PPS: Yes, ROLLOUT is both a Pokemon move and a Transformers catch phrase.

Still...ehhhhhhh.
